Pumps lift water from deep tube wells to roof tanks in Dhaka high-rises, feed boilers and dyeing machines, dose chemicals in ETPs and keep fire systems ready. Centrifugal pumps

End suction, split case and multistage pumps for water supply, cooling, process and HVAC circuits. Pick one whose duty point sits near the peak of its efficiency curve; an oversized pump throttled by a valve wastes power.

Submersible pumps

Borehole pumps for 4, 6 or 8 inch wells, and drainage pumps for sumps and basements that flood in the monsoon. Size them for the dry-season pumping water level, with dry-run and voltage protection.

Booster pump sets

Two or more pumps on one skid with variable speed drives, a controller and a pressure tank, holding steady pressure to the highest floor of apartments, hotels and hospitals. Pumps alternate to share wear and the drive follows demand.

Dosing pumps

Diaphragm or piston metering pumps that feed chlorine, coagulant, acid or boiler chemicals in litres per hour into ETPs, boilers and cooling towers. Specify flow range, back pressure, wetted materials for the chemical, and a 4 to 20 mA or pulse signal.

Fire pumps

A fire fighting pump set: an electric main pump, a diesel standby and a jockey pump that holds system pressure, each with its controller, sized from the hydraulic calculation of your approved fire design. Ask for UL listed or FM approved pumps and controllers where the design requires them.

Slurry pumps

Heavy pumps with rubber-lined or high-chrome wet ends for ETP sludge, sand, ash and mineral slurries. State solids content, particle size and density; they run at lower speeds to limit wear, so price impellers and liners with the pump.

What a pump supplier in Bangladesh needs to size the pump

Duty point: Flow in m³/h or l/s and total head in metres, including static lift and friction (10 m of head is about 1 bar). A system curve, not a guess, avoids oversized pumps.
Liquid: Liquid, temperature, solids, viscosity, pH and any salt or chemicals. These decide materials and seals; thick liquids call for a gear pump or other positive displacement pump.
Suction and NPSH: Water level, suction lift and pipe length, so the seller can show NPSH available exceeds NPSH required with margin, which prevents cavitation damage to impellers.
Wells and water level: For tube wells: bore diameter, pump setting depth and the dry-season pumping level. Dhaka's water table has fallen over the years, so size for the lowest level.
Power and protection: Single or three phase at 50 Hz, generator backup, the starter type and voltage swings. Ask for a protection relay for phase loss, voltage and dry running, and an IE3 motor.
Duty, standby and flooding: Running hours a day, whether a standby pump should take over automatically, and the flood level; keep pump rooms and motors above it or use submersible units.
Fire service: For fire pumps, send the sprinkler and hydrant hydraulic calculation, and state whether the design follows NFPA 20 and needs listed equipment.
Replacements and spares: Give the existing model, flange sizes and baseplate dimensions; pumps to EN 733 or ISO 2858 share standard dimensions within each standard. Ask for seal, bearing and impeller prices with the quote.

Standards and acceptance tests for pumps

ISO 9906: Hydraulic acceptance tests for rotodynamic pumps. Ask for a test certificate showing flow, head and efficiency at your duty point, with the tolerance grade stated.
NFPA 20: Fire pump installation and performance: churn pressure no more than 140 percent of rated, and at least 65 percent of rated pressure at 150 percent flow. Ask for the certified factory test curve.
BNBC 2020 Part 4 and FSCD: Fire protection rules for buildings; the Fire Service and Civil Defence approves the fire safety plan, which the fire pump set must match.
EN 733 and ISO 2858: Standard dimensions and duty points for end suction pumps, so a replacement of another origin can fit existing pipework.
IEC 60034-30-1: Motor efficiency classes IE1 to IE4. Ask for IE3 or better on pumps that run long hours.

What moves the price of a pump over its life

Duty point: flow, head and motor kW set the size of pump and motor.
Energy: for a pump that runs most of the day, the power bill over its life usually far exceeds its price.
Materials: cast iron, bronze, stainless steel 304 or 316, or duplex for salt water; linings for slurry.
Seals, bearings and drives: cartridge seals, heavier bearings, a variable speed drive and the control panel.
Fire service: listed or approved pumps and controllers cost more than general-duty units.
Origin and installation: pump origin and parts supply, plus pipework, valves, base and cable length.

Lead times and delivery

Standard centrifugal, submersible and booster pumps are often in local stock and can reach site within one to two weeks. Booster and fire pump sets assembled with panels typically take three to eight weeks. Listed fire pump sets, large split case pumps and special materials are usually imported to order and typically take two to four months, with sea freight and customs clearance. Questions buyers ask

What does a fire fighting pump set include?

Usually an electric main pump, a diesel-driven standby pump and a small jockey pump that holds system pressure, each with its controller, sized from the hydraulic calculation of your sprinkler and hydrant system. At commissioning the seller runs a field test at churn, rated and 150 percent flow, as NFPA 20 describes.

Do you supply gear pumps?

Yes. Gear pumps are positive displacement pumps for oil, fuel, resin and other thick liquids, where a centrifugal pump loses flow. Give the liquid, viscosity, temperature, flow and pressure. They build pressure against a closed outlet, so the set needs a relief valve.

How do I size a submersible pump for a deep tube well?

Give the bore diameter, the dry-season pumping water level, the pump setting depth, the flow you need and the height to the roof tank or plant. Size for the lowest water level, not the level when the well was drilled, and allow for voltage drop on the long cable.

Why does my pump keep failing?

Common causes are running far from the duty point, cavitation from poor suction, dry running and voltage swings. Ask for a pump sized to the real duty point, a margin between NPSH available and required, dry-run protection and a relay that trips on phase loss or voltage out of range.

How do I compare pump quotes?

Check each pump meets the same duty point, then compare efficiency there, motor power and efficiency class, materials, seal type, what is included (base, panel, drive, installation), test certificate, warranty and spare part prices. On continuous duty, cost the energy over five years; it usually outweighs the price gap.

How soon will I hear back about pumps?

Within 48 hours of a complete requirement, with a price and a delivery date. A requirement is complete when it has the model or specification, where it is needed and by when.
