Buying exhaust fans in Bangladesh

An industrial exhaust fan removes heat, humidity, dust, fumes and smoke from factories, warehouses, kitchens, car parks and plant rooms. Textile, garment, printing, food and chemical plants in Gazipur, Savar, Ashulia, Narayanganj and Chattogram buy them in numbers, often paired with evaporative cooling pads. Wall exhaust fans

Propeller fans in a square box or ring, set in the wall, often with gravity shutters and paired with cooling pads on the opposite wall of production floors and poultry sheds. Specify airflow at the static pressure the pads create, not at free air, plus a rain hood.

Roof exhaust fans

A roof mount exhaust fan sits over a roof opening under a weather cowl and pulls hot air from the highest point of a shed. Specify airflow, a raised base and flashing that keep monsoon rain out, a bird guard and a motor rated for roof heat.

Centrifugal blowers

Backward curved blades suit clean air at good efficiency, radial blades handle dust and material, and forward curved suit low-pressure air handling. Use them for fume extraction, dust collection, kitchen hoods and long ducts. Specify airflow, pressure, gas temperature and dust load.

Axial fans

Propeller, tube axial or vane axial fans that move large volumes against modest resistance, for general ventilation, cooling and car park exhaust. Specify blade material and airflow direction, and for smoke extract duty the temperature class under EN 12101-3.

Inline duct fans

Mixed-flow or centrifugal fans built into a round or square duct, for toilets, kitchens, basements and car parks in Dhaka buildings where wall openings are few. Specify airflow at the duct's pressure loss and a noise level suited to nearby rooms.

HVLS ceiling fans

High volume, low speed fans several metres across that stir a large mass of air for comfort and faster drying of floors in warehouses and halls. They move air within the space but do not remove it, so pair them with exhaust fans.

How to specify an industrial exhaust fan

Airflow: State the airflow in m³ per hour or CFM (1 CFM is about 1.7 m³/h), worked out from air changes per hour or from the heat, fumes or moisture to remove.
Static pressure: Give the pressure the fan must overcome, in pascals: ducts, filters, cooling pads, louvres. Free-air figures overstate what you will get.
Air condition: State temperature, humidity, dust, lint, oil mist, grease or corrosive gases. They decide blade material, coatings, whether the motor sits out of the airstream and any hazardous area rating.
Motor and supply: Single or three phase at 50 Hz, motor efficiency class to IEC 60034-30-1 (IE2 or IE3), IP55 or better, and class F insulation for hot sheds.
Weather and site: Roof and wall fans need rain hoods, cowls and corrosion-resistant finishes: stainless steel or FRP near the coast or chemical plants. Give the opening size and the structure the fan fixes to.
Fresh air inlets and noise: A fan can only pull out as much air as can get in, so show the doors, louvres or cooling pads that let air in. State a noise limit in dB(A) at a set distance near offices or homes.
Controls, hours and quantity: Variable speed drives or speed steps, thermostat or humidistat control, and interlocks with the fire alarm for smoke extract fans. Give running hours and the full quantity for the site.

Standards and tests to ask an exhaust fan supplier in Bangladesh for

AMCA 210 or ISO 5801: Laboratory methods for testing fan airflow and pressure. Ask for fan curves tested to one of them, so offers compare on real performance.
IEC 60034-30-1: Motor efficiency classes IE1 to IE4. Ask for IE2 or IE3 motors on fans that run long hours, since energy is most of their lifetime cost.
ISO 14694 and balance grade: Sets balance quality and vibration levels for industrial fans. Ask for the balance grade achieved, such as G6.3, and vibration readings at start-up for large blowers.
EN 12101-3: Powered smoke and heat exhaust ventilators, classed by temperature and time. It applies where fans form part of a smoke extract system.
ATEX or IECEx: Where flammable vapour or dust is present, such as paint and solvent stores, the fan and motor must be certified for hazardous areas under ATEX or IECEx.

Airflow and pressure duty, which set impeller size and motor rating.
Construction: galvanised steel, aluminium, stainless steel, or FRP or polypropylene for corrosive air.
Motor: origin, efficiency class, enclosure rating and whether it sits out of the airstream.
Drive and control: direct drive, belt drive, or variable speed control and its panel.
Special duty: smoke extract certification, explosion protection or low noise design.
Accessories and fitting: shutters, rain hoods, bird guards, roof bases, dampers and installation.

Common wall, box and roof fans held in stock can typically be delivered within a few days to two weeks. Centrifugal blowers built to a duty usually take 2 to 6 weeks, and imported HVLS, large axial and smoke-rated fans 4 to 10 weeks. Questions buyers ask

How many exhaust fans does my factory need?

Work from airflow, not fan count. Multiply the room volume by the air changes per hour you need, or find the airflow that removes the heat load, then divide by one fan's airflow at the real static pressure. Placement matters too: air must sweep the whole space.

Wall fans or roof mount exhaust fans: which should I use?

Roof fans pull hot air from the highest point and suit tall sheds. Wall fans work with cooling pads to draw air across the floor. Many sheds use both. On light steel roofs, check the structure can carry the fan and its base.

Why do my fans move less air than the brochure says?

Brochure figures are often at free air, with no pressure. Cooling pads, louvres, shutters and ducts add static pressure that cuts airflow, and dusty blades or slipping belts cut it further. Ask for the airflow at your static pressure, from a tested fan curve.

Do cooling pads with exhaust fans work in Bangladesh?

They help, but less in humid weather. Pads cool air by evaporating water, which works well in dry air and much less when the air is already close to saturated, as in the monsoon. The exhaust fans still keep air moving, which helps comfort on its own.

Can a normal fan handle kitchen or chemical fumes?

No. Kitchen exhaust carries grease that coats the fan and can catch fire, so it needs a fan built for kitchen duty and ducts that can be cleaned. Corrosive fumes need FRP, polypropylene or stainless steel fans, and flammable vapours need certified hazardous area fans. Tell us exactly what the air carries.
