Box compression testers

Motorised platens that compress an empty or filled carton until it fails and record the peak force. Choose platen size for your largest carton and capacity for your strongest; tests commonly follow ASTM D642.

Bursting strength testers

Hydraulic testers that expand a rubber diaphragm against a clamped sample until it bursts, read in kPa or kg/cm². Paper models test to ISO 2758 and board to ISO 2759; the ranges differ, so match the model to your grades.

Tensile testers

Universal testing machines that pull a sample to break and record force and elongation, the core plastic test instrument for films, woven bags, straps and moulded parts. Specify capacity, grips and methods such as ISO 527, ASTM D638 or ASTM D882.

Bottle burst testers

Bottle testing equipment that fills a bottle with water and raises internal pressure to a set level or to burst, in bar. Carbonated drink bottles need it most; pair it with a vertical load tester and a wall thickness gauge.

What to tell a testing instrument supplier in Bangladesh

Test method: Each test and the standard your buyer names, such as ASTM D642 or ISO 2759. The instrument's speed, platens, clamps and software must follow that method, not a similar one.
Sample range: Largest carton for compression platens, sample width for tensile grips, and bottle height and neck finish for burst and vertical load fixtures.
Capacity and resolution: Maximum force in kN or kgf, or pressure in bar or kPa, with some margin, and the resolution to read. An oversized load cell loses accuracy at low loads.
Accuracy class: For tensile and compression machines, the force accuracy class under ISO 7500-1, such as class 1 or 0.5. Every quote should state it.
Software and reports: Display only, or PC software with graphs, pass or fail limits, batch reports and data export. Audits often ask for stored results with dates and sample IDs.
Room and power: A lab conditioned to ISO 187, 23 °C and 50% relative humidity, since paper and board results change with humidity, and a stabiliser or UPS on the 50 Hz supply, because voltage swings cut tests short.
Calibration route: Who recalibrates the instrument in Bangladesh, how often, and whether that lab is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for the range, plus who installs, trains, stocks parts and repairs.

Calibration and test standards for lab instruments

ISO/IEC 17025: Accreditation for testing and calibration labs. Ask for a calibration certificate from an accredited lab at delivery, with traceability, uncertainty and serial number, then usually yearly.
ISO 7500-1: Calibration and verification of the force-measuring system of tension and compression testing machines, with accuracy classes. Ask which class the machine meets.
ASTM D642, ISO 2758, ISO 2759 and TAPPI T 811: Box compression, paper bursting, board bursting and edge crush methods. Check the tester follows the method your buyer names, including test speed and clamping.
ISO 527, ASTM D638 and ASTM D882: Tensile methods for plastics and thin film. Grips, speeds and specimen shapes differ, so name the method before ordering.
Bangladesh Accreditation Board: BAB accredits labs in Bangladesh to ISO/IEC 17025, so some instruments can be recalibrated by a local accredited lab instead of being shipped abroad.

What moves the price of a testing instrument

Capacity and frame: higher force or pressure and bigger platens need a heavier frame, bigger drive and costlier load cell.
Control and accuracy: computer control, servo drives and a tighter accuracy class cost more than a manual peak-reading tester.
Software and fixtures: data software, audit trails and each extra grip, platen or bottle fixture are often priced separately.
Origin: European, Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese or Indian make, which differ in price and in calibration and parts support here.
Calibration, installation, training and a service contract, included in some quotes and extra in others.

Lead times and delivery

Common bench instruments, such as bursting testers and moisture meters, are often in stock and deliver within one to two weeks. Box compression testers, universal testing machines and bottle testing equipment are usually imported to order and typically take six to twelve weeks, including calibration, freight and clearance at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport or Chattogram port. Questions buyers ask

Which instruments does a new carton plant need first?

Usually a bursting strength tester and a moisture meter for incoming paper and board, then an edge crush or box compression tester to show box strength to customers. Add a drop tester when buyers ask for transit tests, and check which methods your customers specify first.

Why do our results differ from the buyer's lab?

Usually because conditions differ. Check sample conditioning, test speed, platen or clamp type, calibration dates and how specimens were cut. Humid samples read low on compression and bursting tests. Agree the method with the buyer's lab, then compare samples from the same batch.

Can the instrument be calibrated in Bangladesh?

Ask before you order. Some ranges can be calibrated locally by labs accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 through the Bangladesh Accreditation Board; others need the load cell or gauge sent abroad. Put the calibration route, interval and price in the quote and keep every certificate for audits.

What bottle testing equipment does a PET bottle plant need?

A burst tester for carbonated drink bottles, a vertical load tester for stacking and capping, a wall thickness gauge and a leak tester, plus neck finish checks. Preform makers often add a polariscope to see stress in the plastic. Tell us your bottle sizes and the tests your customer requires.

Can one machine do tensile and compression tests?
