What to tell a commercial laundry equipment supplier in Bangladesh

Linen volume: Give kilograms of dry linen per day, the peak day and the working hours. Weigh one set per occupied room or bed, multiply by occupancy, then add restaurant and uniform linen.
Linen mix and loading ratio: List sheets, towels, table linen, uniforms and patient linen. Compare washer capacity at the same loading ratio, such as 1:10, or a drum may hold less than its label suggests.
Heating utilities: State what is available: steam pressure and capacity, piped gas or LPG, and electrical supply in kW, three phase at 50 Hz. The heating type fixes the models and the running cost.
Water quality and drains: Test hardness and iron. Iron stains linen yellow and hardness wastes detergent and scales heaters, so plan a softener and iron removal ahead of the washers. Drains must take fast dumps.
Floor and mounting: Hard mount washers need a reinforced concrete base. On upper floors, soft mount machines avoid passing vibration into the structure; check slab strength, door widths and ceiling height either way.
Power cuts: Ask what each machine does when power fails mid-cycle, especially an ironer with linen on hot rolls, and connect the laundry to a generator with changeover.
Disinfection and controls: Hospitals need a wash programme that holds a thermal disinfection temperature, such as 71 °C for 3 minutes or 65 °C for 10 minutes, with the controller logging it.

ISO 10472 series: The safety requirements for industrial laundry machinery, with parts for washer extractors, dryers, flatwork ironers and presses. Ask which parts the model meets, and check door interlocks work.
EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC: Machines made for the EU carry CE marking under it. Ask for the declaration of conformity; for machines from elsewhere, ask for equivalent safety test reports.
Boiler Act and the Chief Inspector of Boilers: Steam boilers feeding the laundry must be registered and certified by the Office of the Chief Inspector of Boilers. Check the certificate and spare capacity before adding steam loads.

How do I size a hotel laundry?

Weigh one full linen set per occupied room, multiply by expected occupancy, and add restaurant, spa and uniform linen. Divide by working hours to get kilograms per hour. Split washer capacity across two or more machines so one breakdown does not stop the laundry, with dryers and the ironer matched to them.

Hard mount or soft mount washer extractor?

Soft mount machines stand on a level floor that can carry their weight and spin at a higher G-factor, so linen leaves with less water and dries faster. Hard mount machines cost less but spin lower and must be bolted to a concrete base, usually on the ground floor.

Should we buy gas, steam or electric dryers?

Match the dryer to the energy you already have. Steam suits sites with a boiler; gas suits sites with an approved gas or LPG supply and usually costs less to run; electric dryers are simplest to install but usually cost most to run. Ask each seller for energy use per kg dried.

Our groundwater has iron. Will it stain the linen?
