Beakers, flasks, cylinders, pipettes and burettes in borosilicate glass 3.3 to ISO 3585, which survives heating and sudden temperature change. Choose Class A volumetric glassware with a batch certificate for analytical, pharma QC and accredited work, and Class B for teaching and routine use.

Microscopes

Compound microscopes with 4x to 100x objectives for pathology, microbiology and teaching, and stereo microscopes for fibres, inspection and small parts. Specify objectives, LED illumination and a camera port, and plan dry storage, since monsoon humidity grows fungus on optics.

Centrifuges

Benchtop and floor models for clinical samples, blood banks, microbiology and research. Compare models by relative centrifugal force (RCF, in × g) rather than rpm, because force depends on rotor radius, and specify rotor type, tube sizes and refrigeration for heat-sensitive samples.

Lab balances

Analytical balances reading to 0.1 mg for chemistry and pharma; precision balances to 0.01 g or 0.001 g for fabric GSM, media and general work; moisture analysers that dry and weigh in one step. Specify capacity, readability, internal calibration and OIML R 76 class.

Incubators

Heated chambers for microbiology, BOD incubators with cooling for effluent testing at 20 °C, and CO2 incubators for cell culture. Heating-only models hold only above room temperature, so a hot room in summer needs a cooled model or air conditioning.

Fume hoods

Ventilated enclosures that draw chemical fumes away from the user, ducted to a roof fan or filtered and recirculated; ductless hoods suit only light, known chemicals. Specify width, face velocity (commonly 0.4 to 0.5 m/s), liner and worktop for your chemicals, and an airflow alarm.

What to tell a lab equipment supplier in Bangladesh

Test methods: Name the methods you run, such as a pharmacopoeia assay, ISO 105-C06 wash fastness or BOD5. The method sets the accuracy, range and conditions the equipment must meet.
Performance figures: State numbers, not model names: readability and capacity for balances, RCF and rotor for centrifuges, range and uniformity for incubators, face velocity for fume hoods.
Sample numbers: Samples per day and per batch. They size the centrifuge rotor, the incubator volume and the amount of glassware, so you do not pay for range you will not use.
Room and power: Give room temperature, humidity, air conditioning and bench space, and state 220 to 230 V at 50 Hz. Voltage swings and load shedding stop runs, so ask for an online UPS (IEC 62040-3) sized to the load.
Fume hood services: Give the duct route to the roof, fan position, make-up air and floor load. In multi-storey Dhaka buildings, plan the duct route before ordering.
Calibration and qualification: Ask for calibration certificates from an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab at handover, the interval after, and, for pharma or accredited labs, installation and operational qualification (IQ and OQ) documents.
Consumables, training and service: List rotors, tubes, lamps, filters and calibration weights and check they are available in Bangladesh, and ask who installs and trains your staff, the response time for faults and the price of annual calibration after warranty.

Standards and certificates for lab equipment

ISO 3585 and Class A glassware: Properties of borosilicate glass 3.3, and the ISO volumetric standards, such as ISO 1042 for flasks and ISO 648 for pipettes, under which Class A has about half the tolerance of Class B.
OIML R 76: Non-automatic weighing instruments and their accuracy classes I to IIII; analytical balances are usually Class I. Ask for the class and a calibration certificate using traceable test weights.
IEC 61010-1 and IEC 61010-2-020: Safety of electrical laboratory equipment, with a particular part for centrifuges. Ask for test reports or certification for the exact model.
EN 14175 or ASHRAE 110: Fume cupboard performance tests: face velocity, containment and airflow alarm. Ask for an on-site test at installation, recorded in the handover file.
ISO/IEC 17025 and DGDA: Calibration certificates should come from an accredited lab and state the measurement uncertainty. Where an item is regulated as a medical or diagnostic device, ask for DGDA registration or its status.

What moves the price of lab equipment

Performance class: a 0.1 mg analytical balance, Class A glass and tighter temperature uniformity cost more.
Features: refrigeration in centrifuges and incubators, CO2 control, cameras on microscopes and software.
Origin and maker: European, Japanese, US, Indian and Chinese instruments differ widely in price and service support.
Installation: fume hoods need fans, ducting, benches and electrical points, which a cabinet-only quote leaves out.
Calibration, IQ and OQ documents, training and service contracts, included or priced separately; imports move with the exchange rate.

Lead times and delivery

Glassware, common balances and standard microscopes held by importers in Dhaka usually deliver within one to two weeks. Refrigerated centrifuges, CO2 incubators and other imported instruments typically take six to ten weeks from order, and fume hoods built to size four to eight weeks plus site work for ducting. Do you source textile lab equipment for factory labs?

Yes, for factory and buying-house labs in Gazipur, Ashulia and Narayanganj: GSM cutters and balances, rubbing fastness testers for ISO 105-X12, wash fastness testers for ISO 105-C06, colour assessment cabinets, grey scales, ovens and pH meters. Which balance do I need for pharmaceutical QC?

Usually an analytical balance reading to 0.1 mg, or a semi-micro balance reading to 0.01 mg for small samples, with internal calibration. Pharmacopoeia methods set a minimum weight, so check the balance's minimum weight at your bench, and ask for an ISO/IEC 17025 calibration certificate at installation.

Class A or Class B glassware?

Class A for quality control, accredited testing and any volumetric result you report; its tolerance is about half that of Class B, and it usually comes with a certificate. Class B costs less and suits teaching labs and routine preparation.

Is a fume hood the same as a biosafety cabinet?

No. A fume hood protects the user from chemical fumes by drawing air out of the room. A biosafety cabinet filters the air to protect the user and the sample when handling infectious material. Microbiology labs often need both, for different work.

What should a fume hood quote and handover include?

The cabinet, liner material, exhaust fan, ducting to the outside, electrical work and an on-site test at handover with face velocity readings across the sash opening, an airflow alarm check and a containment test where your standard requires it, such as EN 14175 or ASHRAE 110. Many low quotes cover only the cabinet.

How soon will I hear back about lab equipment?
