Product and fabric

Name the garment or fabric, its weight in GSM and the yarn count. These set the stitch type, the knitting gauge and the machine settings.

Stitch class, threads and needles

For sewing machines, state the stitch class, the number of threads and needles, the feed type and the fabric weight each seam must handle.

Diameter, gauge and feeders

For circular knitting, give the cylinder diameter, gauge and feeder count, and the yarn count you will run, since gauge must match the yarn.

Utilities at the machine

List power (three phase at 50 Hz), compressed air and steam. Gas and power supply to factories has been disrupted in 2026, so plan backup for each utility a line depends on.

Motor type

No Bangladesh product approval is known for sewing or knitting machines, so the checks are on the model, its origin, its condition and the import papers.

CE marking and Directive 2006/42/EC

Machines built for Europe carry CE marking under the EU Machinery Directive. Ask for the declaration of conformity as a guide to guarding and electrical safety.

Boiler registration

A boiler for steam pressing must be registered and certified by the Office of the Chief Inspector of Boilers under the Boiler Act. Ask who handles it.

Compressed air to ISO 8573-1
