Buying three piece sets in Bangladesh

A three piece set is a top (kameez), a bottom (salwar, churidar or palazzo) and a dupatta, also called an orna. It is sold as unstitched suit material for a tailor or ready-made. Before Eid 2026, Keraniganj traders named three-pieces among the lines in particular demand, and Puja 2025 collections in Dhaka carried them beside sarees.

The three pieces are often three different cloths, so a three piece set supplier in Bangladesh has to match them as well as make them. Roptan sources from verified sellers, writes the fibre and length of each piece into the order, checks the shade of all three against the approved sample and inspects the packed sets.

Kinds of three piece set

Unstitched sets

Cut lengths for top, bottom and dupatta, sold at Islampur as suit material. Choose them for buyers who use a tailor; lengths and print placement must be right, since nothing is sewn.

Ready-made sets

Stitched to a size chart and packed as one set. Choose them for retail and online stock; they need a fit sample and graded sizes before cutting.

Screen-printed sets

Rotary or flat-bed screen printing is the usual method. Choose it for a core festival design in several colourways, with a strike-off approved for each.

Digitally printed sets

Inkjet printing with reactive inks on cotton and linen, suited to single pieces and short or mid runs. Choose it for many designs in small quantities.

Embroidered and handloom sets

Machine or hand embroidery, such as zardozi work, or handloom Tangail tant, Jamdani or Rajshahi silk cloth. Choose them for Eid and gift lines, and approve the work on a sample.

How to brief a three piece set supplier in Bangladesh

Fibre of each piece
Name the fibre of top, bottom and dupatta separately; a cotton top often comes with a chiffon or georgette dupatta.
Dupatta cloth
Chiffon is a sheer plain weave of high-twist crepe yarns; georgette a duller sheer crepe; organza thin and crisp. State the dupatta's length and width.
Cut lengths
For unstitched sets, typically 2.50 m for the top and 2.50 to 3.50 m for the bottom in cloth 42 to 48 inches wide, per a teaching reference.
Print
Screen, digital or block print, the colours per design and the repeat, with a strike-off for each colourway.
Packing and labels
One bag per set with the dupatta folded in, and a label on each piece with fibre, size and care.

Tests for printed and dyed three piece sets

ISO 105 fastness series
Washing (C06), rubbing dry and wet (X12), perspiration (E04) and light (B02), with staining graded on the A03 grey scale. Test each of the three cloths separately.
ISO 1833-1
Fibre blend content by chemical analysis. Ask for it when a piece is sold as a stated blend, such as a silk-blend dupatta.
REACH entry 43, EN ISO 14362-1 and -3:2017
The EU bars azo dyes releasing listed aromatic amines above 30 mg/kg in clothes worn against the skin. Ask for a report to these methods for each cloth.
16 CFR Part 1610
The US burn test exempts plain fabric of 2.6 ounces per square yard (about 88 g/m2) or more; a lighter silk, viscose or cotton dupatta needs a test.

What moves the price of a three piece set

  • Print method: digital printing suits single pieces and short runs; screen printing suits one design run in volume.
  • Embroidery: hand work costs more than machine embroidery, because it needs time and skill.
  • Dupatta: a chiffon, georgette or organza dupatta adds a second cloth to buy, dye and test.
  • Stitched or unstitched: ready-made sets add cutting, sewing, grading and finishing to the cloth.

Lead times and delivery

Unstitched sets usually move faster than ready-made ones, which add a fit sample, cutting and sewing, and hand embroidery adds more time. Cloth imported from India or China can wait when banks cannot open letters of credit on time, a 2026 trade report said. Roptan confirms dates and any minimum quantity in the quote.

We deliver across Bangladesh; buyers outside Dhaka can take cartons by courier, as Islampur's wholesale trade does. Each set is packed as one unit, with a packing list by design, colour and size, the inspection report and a VAT invoice (Mushak 6.3).

Buying three piece sets for export

For boutiques abroad, we quote FOB Chattogram or air freight from Dhaka. Bangladesh has 0% UK tariffs on 99.8% of products under the DCTS and duty-free EU access under Everything But Arms; LDC graduation is scheduled for 24 November 2026, so check both on the quote date. The tariff line turns on the set's build and each piece's fibre, so your broker confirms it.

What we check for this order

  • Three pieces, one shadeWe compare top, bottom and dupatta side by side against the approved sample before packing.
  • Cut lengthsFor unstitched sets, we measure each piece against the order, since a short top or dupatta cannot be made up.
  • Print against strike-offWe check colour, registration and repeat on the bulk print against the strike-off approved for each colourway.
  • Fibre by pieceWe check each piece's fibre against the order and the label, with a blend test where a blend is claimed.

Questions buyers ask

Can the dupatta be a different fabric from the top?

Yes, and it often is, for example a cotton top with a chiffon, georgette or organza dupatta. Name each fibre, test each cloth for fastness, and for US sale check a light, sheer dupatta against the 16 CFR Part 1610 burn test.

Should I order unstitched or ready-made three-pieces?

Unstitched sets suit buyers who use a tailor: lengths and print placement matter, not a size chart. Ready-made sets suit retail and online sale but need a fit sample and graded sizes. Tell us the split and we quote each.

Is digital or screen printing right for my designs?

Screen printing is the usual method and suits one design in several colourways. Digital printing with reactive inks suits single pieces and short runs, so it fits many designs in small numbers. Either way, approve a strike-off and test washing and rubbing fastness.

When do wholesale buyers buy three-pieces for Eid?

At Keraniganj, wholesale buyers start arriving the day after Shab-e-Barat; at Islampur the rush peaks from the first week of Ramadan until Chand Raat. Keraniganj traders put 60 to 70 percent of a year's sales before Eid. Pack the sets before Shab-e-Barat; Roptan confirms the date in the quote.

How soon will I hear back about ethnic wear and sarees?

Within 48 hours of a complete requirement, with a price and a delivery date. A requirement is complete when it has the quantity, where it is needed and by when.
