Buying swimming pool filtration systems in Bangladesh

A swimming pool filtration system keeps pool water clear and safe: a pump recirculates the water through a filter, and a dosing system keeps the disinfectant and pH where they should be. In Bangladesh hotels, clubs, residential towers, schools and private homes buy them, for outdoor pools under strong sun and monsoon rain and for indoor pools where air quality matters.

As your swimming pool filtration system supplier in Bangladesh, Roptan checks the sizing before anything is ordered. We source from verified sellers, compare quotes on turnover, filter media, disinfection and pH control, arrange installation and commissioning through the seller and deliver.

Kinds of pool filtration system

Pressure sand filter systems

A pressure-fed sand filter, called a high rate sand filter, placed in line just after the pump, generally catching particles down to about 10 micrometres. Choose it where filtration to that level is enough and staff can backwash.

Diatomaceous earth and perlite filters

Precoat or regenerative filters using diatomaceous earth or perlite as the medium. A DE filter often traps particles as small as 1 micrometre, so choose them when finer filtration than sand is wanted and staff can handle the media.

Salt chlorination systems

A salt cell makes chlorine from salt added to the pool, so a saltwater pool is not chlorine-free. Salt levels fall with splash-out, backwashing and rain, which matters in the monsoon.

Indoor pool systems with UV

Medium pressure UV controls the chloramines behind the irritating smell of indoor pools. It does not replace chlorine, but a well-sized unit should remove the need to shock for chloramines.

Spa and hot tub filtration

Smaller heated pools with their own filter, often run on bromine rather than chlorine. Ask whether the quote covers the pool, the spa or both.

What to tell a swimming pool filtration system supplier in Bangladesh

Pool volume and turnover
Length, width and average depth, and the turnover period: the time to pass the whole volume through the filter. Commercial pools usually need much faster turnover than domestic ones.
Use and bathers
Hotel, club, school or private pool, indoor or outdoor, and how many swimmers at peak. Bather waste drives chloramine formation.
Filter media
Ask the seller to state the media, its grade and bed depth, and the filtration rate at design flow.
Disinfection and pH control
Chlorine dosing, salt cell or UV support, with a dosing pump and an automatic controller. Higher pH sharply reduces chlorine's power, so pH control belongs in the scope.
Sun and rain
Chlorine breaks down fast in sunlight. For outdoor pools, cyanuric acid stabiliser can extend its residual half-life about four to six times but builds up, so plan partial water replacement. Say how rain dilution is handled.
Plant room and drain
Space for pumps, filters and dosing, three phase or single phase supply at 50 Hz, and a drain for backwash water.

Guidelines and tests for pool water

WHO pool guidelines
WHO's Guidelines for safe recreational water environments, Volume 2 (2006), cover drowning and injury, microbial contamination and chemicals in pools, and how to control them. A guideline, not Bangladesh law.
Routine water tests
Disinfectant, pH, total alkalinity and calcium hardness, tested on a routine. Calcium from supply water tends to build up as deposits on pool walls and equipment.
Commissioning record
The flow at the filter, the clean filter pressure, the controller settings and a first set of water test results, signed at handover.

What moves the price of a pool filtration system

  • Volume and turnover: a larger pool, a commercial use or a shorter turnover needs bigger pumps and filters.
  • Filter type: sand against diatomaceous earth or perlite precoat filters, and the media they hold.
  • Disinfection: chlorine dosing, a salt cell, or UV for an indoor pool.
  • Controls: automatic chlorine and pH control against manual dosing, and the number of pumps.

Lead times and delivery

There is no standard lead time. A home pool kit is simpler than a hotel plant with several filters, automatic dosing and UV. Imported pumps, filters and controllers add shipping and clearance, and installation follows the pool builder's progress on site. Roptan confirms dates and any minimum in the quote.

We deliver to hotels, clubs, towers and homes across Bangladesh. The seller installs and commissions the system where agreed, sets the dosing and pH controller, and trains your staff on backwash and testing. You receive the commissioning record, manuals, a list of spares and chemicals the dosing equipment is built for, the warranty in writing, the delivery note and a VAT invoice (Mushak 6.3).

What we check for this order

  • Turnover sumWe check the pump flow matches the pool volume divided by the stated turnover period, for the pool's use.
  • Media and rateWe check the quote names the filter media, grade, bed depth and filtration rate at design flow.
  • Dosing and pH controlWe check disinfection and pH control are in the scope, not left as an extra.
  • Backwash and gaugeWe check there is a pressure gauge on the filter, a drain for backwash water and a backwash routine for staff.

Questions buyers ask

How large a pump does my pool need?

Divide the pool volume by the turnover period. Domestic pools are often designed for a turnover of about 6 hours, so a 10 m by 5 m pool 1.5 m deep then needs about 12.5 m³ per hour. Hotel and club pools usually need much higher rates; the seller should state the turnover used.

Is a saltwater pool chlorine-free?

No. A salt chlorinator makes chlorine from the salt in the water. The pool still needs pH control, and in the monsoon rain, splash-out and backwashing lower the salt level, so it has to be checked and topped up.

Why does our indoor pool smell of chlorine?

The smell usually comes from chloramines, formed when chlorine reacts with urea and other bather waste, mostly when too little chlorine is in the water. Good filtration limits them, and medium pressure UV is used in indoor pools to control them.

How long does pool filter sand last?

Typically five to seven years, until the grains wear smooth and the filter stops working as intended. Watch the pressure gauge: when it reaches the red line, backwash. Plan media replacement as a running cost.

Is there a Bangladesh standard for pool water?

We have not found one. WHO's Guidelines for safe recreational water environments, Volume 2, set out the hazards in pools and how to control them, so name the guideline or code your project follows in the order.

How soon will I hear back about water treatment plants and purifiers?

Within 48 hours of a complete requirement, with a price and a delivery date. A requirement is complete when it has the capacity, where it is needed and by when.
