Buying tracksuits in Bangladesh

A tracksuit is a jacket, usually zipped, with matching trousers, sold and customs-coded as one set. Schools, clubs and companies in Bangladesh order them as team and staff wear; importers buy them for sport and leisure ranges. The fabric sets the use: tricot for training, brushed fleece for warmth, cotton-rich knits for lounging.

Tracksuit faults show on the finished set: a waistband slack after a few washes, twisted cuffs, a jacket a shade off its trousers. A tracksuit manufacturer in Bangladesh works to your brief, so Roptan writes those limits in, uses a verified seller of your fabric type, checks a washed sample and inspects the bulk.

Kinds of tracksuit

Tricot tracksuits

A warp knit, usually polyester, with fine lengthwise ribs on the face: smooth, light and quick drying, stretching along its length but barely across. Choose it for team, school and training suits.

Fleece tracksuits

A knit, usually polyester, brushed into a soft, insulating nap, and also made from recycled PET. Microfleece, the lighter kind, usually weighs under 200 GSM. Choose it for cool weather and leisure.

Cotton-rich tracksuits

Cotton or cotton-rich jersey and sweat fabric. It feels soft but absorbs sweat and dries more slowly than most synthetics, so it usually suits lounge and casual sets, not hard training.

Woven tracksuits

A light, hard-wearing woven nylon or polyester shell, lined or unlined, for outdoor training and travel. It sits under a different tariff heading from knitted suits.

How to brief a tracksuit manufacturer in Bangladesh

Fabric and weight
Fibre percentages, knit or weave, GSM with a tolerance and any finish. Two fabrics of one GSM can behave very differently, so weight alone is not a specification.
Pieces and trims
Full or half zip, hood or stand collar, pockets, cuffed or open hems. Each changes the pattern and the trims, so settle them before the first sample.
Waistband and cuffs
Elastic type and width, drawcord and cuff stitch. Weak waistband elastic can lose shape after a few washes, and poorly stitched cuffs can twist.
Decoration
Choose the method before the fabric. Sublimation needs 100 percent or high-polyester fabric; cotton-rich suits take embroidery, screen print or transfers, and fleece takes embroidery well.
Size chart and label
Points of measure for both pieces, each with a tolerance, usually about 1 to 2 cm. For the EU, Regulation 1007/2011 requires fibre composition on the label.

Tests and rules for tracksuits

ISO 105 colour fastness
Washing (ISO 105-C06), rubbing (X12) and perspiration (E04) grades on each colour, with staining read on the ISO 105-A03 grey scale, from bulk fabric of both pieces.
ISO 5077 and ISO 12945-2
Shrinkage after washing and drying, run with ISO 6330 procedures, and modified Martindale pilling. Lower-grade polyester fleece is prone to pilling, so set a limit and a wash count.
EN 14682 and 16 CFR 1120
EN 14682 covers cords on children's clothing up to 14 years. In the US, drawstrings on children's upper outerwear in sizes 2T to 16 must meet ASTM F1816-97.
EU REACH Annex XVII
Entry 72 limits listed CMR substances in clothing, sportswear included; entry 79 limits PFHxA in clothing textiles from 10 October 2026, which matters for water-repellent jackets.

What moves the price of a tracksuit

  • Fabric type and weight: heavy fleece and sweat fabric carry more mass per square metre than tricot.
  • Pieces and trims: a hood, zips, cords, pockets and cuffs each add material and work.
  • Decoration: the number of colours and positions; digital printing is usually cheaper than embroidery.
  • Order size: bulk orders usually lower the cost per set.

Lead times and delivery

Proto, fit and pre-production samples usually take four to six weeks in all. Order to port usually runs about 75 to 120 days, knitted suits at the shorter end; custom-dyed colours, imported fabric and the August to October peak add time. Minimums usually start around 1,000 pieces per style and colour, higher at large plants. Roptan confirms dates and minimums in the quote.

Inside Bangladesh, Roptan delivers to your school, club, office or store. Say whether each jacket is bagged with its trousers and how cartons are sorted. Each delivery carries the packing list, the final inspection report and a VAT invoice (Mushak 6.3).

Buying tracksuits for export

Knitted tracksuits usually fall under HS heading 6112, split by fibre; woven suits under 6211, with lines for lined suits and for upper and lower parts. The chapter notes treat a knitted set as a tracksuit, not an ensemble; your broker confirms the line. Quotes are FOB Chattogram, with sea transit usually three to five weeks to US and EU ports.

What we check for this order

  • Jacket against trousersWe compare jacket and trousers of each colour side by side, since the two can be cut from different fabric lots.
  • Waistband and cuffsOn a washed sample and on bulk we check the elastic recovers, the drawcord holds and cuff stitching runs straight.
  • Children's cordsWe leave hood and neck drawstrings off young children's sizes and check every other cord against EN 14682.
  • Final AQL inspectionRandom inspection to ISO 2859-1, usually AQL 2.5 major and 4.0 minor; a measurement outside your tolerance counts as a defect.

Questions buyers ask

Which tracksuit fabric suits Bangladesh's climate?

For most of the year, a light polyester knit such as tricot. Dhaka's monthly mean temperature runs from about 19 °C in January to 29 °C in May, with average humidity above 80 percent in the monsoon. Keep fleece for the cool months or colder export markets.

Does a fleece tracksuit for the US need a flammability test?

It depends on the fibre. 16 CFR Part 1610 treats fleece as a raised-surface fabric, but fabrics made wholly of polyester, nylon, acrylic, modacrylic, olefin or wool are exempt from the testing that backs a seller's guaranty. So pure polyester fleece usually needs no test; cotton or cotton-blend fleece does.

Can our club design be sublimated on a tracksuit?

Only on 100 percent or high-polyester fabric, such as polyester tricot; cotton-rich suits take embroidery, screen print or transfers instead. Even a ready-made polyester tracksuit may not suit full sublimation, so fix the method before the fabric is booked.

Can we order jackets and trousers separately?

Yes; say so at the quote. Sold together, a knitted suit is coded as a tracksuit. Jackets and trousers presented separately can fall under other tariff lines, and woven suits have separate lines for upper and lower parts. Separate packs also change the size ratio.

How soon will I hear back about sportswear and swimwear?

Within 48 hours of a complete requirement, with a price and a delivery date. A requirement is complete when it has the quantity, where it is needed and by when.
