Buying team jerseys in Bangladesh

A team jersey is a knitted sports shirt in team colours, usually with names, numbers and a crest. Football shirts are normally polyester mesh with sleeves; basketball jerseys are usually sleeveless, baseball jerseys button-up, and cycling jerseys zipped with rear pockets. Clubs, schools and companies in Bangladesh order them for tournaments and events, and importers buy them for retail.

Team-kit problems sit in the details: a misspelt name, a missing size, a design that breaks league rules. A team jersey manufacturer in Bangladesh prints what the file and list say, so Roptan checks both before printing, places the order with a verified seller, approves a printed sample and counts every shirt against the list.

Kinds of team jersey

Football shirts

Usually polyester mesh, which does not trap sweat and heat, and always with sleeves under the Laws of the Game. Order home, away and goalkeeper colours that stand apart from each other and from the match officials.

Cricket shirts

Collared shirts, generally white for Test and domestic matches and in team colours for limited-overs games. Say which format and which competition's rules your order follows.

Basketball and baseball jerseys

Basketball jerseys are usually sleeveless and baseball jerseys usually button-up. Choose them for those sports only: a football shirt must have sleeves.

Cycling jerseys

Usually light synthetic microfibre that wicks moisture, with a zipped front, an elastic waistband and rear pockets. Choose them for club rides and cycling events.

How to brief a team jersey manufacturer in Bangladesh

Fabric and base colour
Polyester or high-polyester knit on a white or very light base. Sublimation inks contain no white, so dark fabric will not show the print, and less polyester fades it.
Print method
Full sublimation of the panels before sewing for any-colour designs; heat transfers for names, numbers and fine detail; embroidery for crests.
Player list
A spreadsheet of name, number and size per player, the height and position of names and numbers, and a size chart in centimetres with tolerances.
Competition rules
Kit colours, logo sizes and numbering are set by your competition. In football, Law 4 bars political, religious or personal slogans and images on kit.
Label
Give exact fibre percentages: for the EU, Regulation 1007/2011 requires fibre composition on the label, durably attached.

Tests and certificates for team jerseys

ISO 105-E04 and ISO 105-X12
Perspiration and rubbing fastness on every colour and on the printed face, plus washing (C06). Ask how the seller stops a dyed body colour bleeding into the print.
ISO 5077 and ISO 12945-2
Shrinkage after washing and drying, and pilling by the modified Martindale method, on the mesh or interlock body; put limits and a wash count in the order.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and REACH
Jerseys touch the skin, so ask for product class 2; certificates last one year. For EU orders, also ask for a REACH Annex XVII entry 72 report on CMR substances.

What moves the price of a team jersey

  • Print method: screen print needs a screen for each colour, so it is priced per colour; digital sublimation is not.
  • Design: screen print usually becomes cheaper per shirt on large runs of simple designs.
  • Extras: each added element, such as names, numbers, sponsor logos or an embroidered crest, adds cost.
  • Order size: bulk orders lower the cost per shirt; small batches usually cost more per piece.

Lead times and delivery

Kits sublimated on stock white polyester skip custom dyeing, which usually adds weeks to the longest stage, so they usually ship well ahead of dyed-to-order programmes; the quote gives the date and minimum for your kit. Fabric dyed to order takes longer: samples usually take four to six weeks and order to port about 75 to 120 days, with minimums usually around 1,000 pieces per style and colour. Roptan's quote confirms both.

Inside Bangladesh, Roptan delivers to your club, school, office or venue, with each shirt bagged and labelled by player name and number, ready to hand out. The delivery carries the checked player list, the final inspection report and a VAT invoice (Mushak 6.3).

Buying team jerseys for export

A knitted team shirt with a plain hem and no neck opening usually falls under HS heading 6109; a ribbed or drawstring hem usually moves it to 6110, and a buttoned neck opening, as on many cricket shirts, can make it a shirt of 6105 or 6106. Your broker confirms the line. Quotes are FOB Chattogram, with sea transit usually three to five weeks to US and EU ports, or by air from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for urgent kits. Designs must be your own or licensed to you.

What we check for this order

  • List against artworkBefore printing we check every name, number and size in the artwork file against your player list, and confirm spellings with you.
  • Printed sampleWe approve a printed sample for colour, print position and white streaks at seams before the full run.
  • Shirt-by-shirt countBefore packing we check every shirt against the list for name, number, size and team colour.
  • Final AQL inspectionRandom inspection to ISO 2859-1, usually AQL 2.5 major and 4.0 minor, with measurements against your tolerance table.

Questions buyers ask

Can you print on dark or cotton jerseys?

Not by sublimation: it needs white or very light polyester or high-polyester fabric, and lower polyester content gives a faded print. For dark or cotton shirts, names and numbers go on as heat transfers or screen print, and crests as embroidery.

What colours does a football kit need?

Under Law 4 of the Laws of the Game, the two teams must wear colours that set them apart from each other and the match officials, and each goalkeeper must stand out too. Undershirts must match the main sleeve colour, so order them with the shirts.

Can you copy a professional club's kit?

No. Roptan sources jerseys only from artwork you own or are licensed to use; copies of club or brand designs, crests and logos can infringe their owners' rights. Send your own design file, and we check it against your competition's kit rules before printing.

Can our jerseys use recycled polyester?

Yes, from sellers certified to the Global Recycled Standard. A GRS label on the product needs at least 50 percent recycled content (20 percent covers business-to-business use only), and a third-party body audits each stage of the supply chain. Textile Exchange's Materials Matter Standard takes effect on 31 December 2026 and becomes mandatory a year later, so check the certificate's expiry.

How soon will I hear back about sportswear and swimwear?

Within 48 hours of a complete requirement, with a price and a delivery date. A requirement is complete when it has the quantity, where it is needed and by when.

Who do I deal with?
