Buying conference and sound systems in Bangladesh

A conference sound system lets everyone in a room hear each other and, when the room joins a call, lets remote people hear the room without echo. It ranges from one speakerphone on a table to table microphones, ceiling speakers and a processor, or an amplifier and speaker set for a hall. Offices, banks, universities, hotels and training centres in Bangladesh buy them.

Room acoustics change the result: soft furnishings absorb sound and hard surfaces reflect it, so the same kit sounds different in two rooms. A conference and sound system supplier in Bangladesh should start with the room. Roptan collects the room details, sources from verified sellers, checks the papers for wireless microphones and arranges installation, tuning and a measured handover.

Kinds of conference and sound system

Speakerphones and all-in-one units

One table or wall unit with microphones, a speaker and echo cancelling built in. Choose it for small meeting rooms where a few people join calls.

Table microphones with ceiling speakers

Fixed microphones on the table, speakers in the ceiling and a processor in a rack. Choose it for boardrooms with set seating and regular calls with other offices.

Wireless microphone kits

Handheld, lapel or headset microphones on radio links. Choose them for training rooms and halls where presenters move about, after checking the importer's BTRC permission and NOC.

Delegate discussion systems

A central unit with a chairman microphone and delegate microphone units chained along the table, each with its own loudspeaker, so the chair controls who speaks. Choose it for council chambers, meeting halls and training rooms with many fixed seats.

Hall and auditorium sound

A mixer, amplifiers and speakers, often on a 70 V or 100 V line when there are many ceiling speakers. Choose it for auditoriums, ballrooms and lecture halls where one person speaks to many.

How to brief a conference and sound system supplier in Bangladesh

Room size and finishes
Give length, width, ceiling height, seat count and finishes such as glass, carpet or wood panels. The design depends on how the room absorbs and reflects sound.
Echo cancellation
If the room joins calls, ask for acoustic echo cancellation that keeps adapting as the room changes, and how many microphone channels it covers.
Microphone positions
Count speaking positions and say whether presenters move. Fixed table microphones or delegate units suit set seating; wireless kits suit people who walk while they talk.
Wireless receivers
Ask for true diversity receivers, with two receiver modules and their own antennas, which usually reduce dead spots from wall reflections. Digital kits can add encryption.
Network and power
Network microphones, cameras and speakerphones are often powered over Ethernet: up to 15.4 W per port under 802.3af, 30 W under 802.3at. State the switch's PoE budget.
Speaker lines in halls
For many ceiling speakers, ask whether the seller uses a 70 V or 100 V line with a tap per speaker, so each area's level can be set.

Standards and papers for conference audio

EN IEC 60268-16:2020
Rates speech clarity as a Speech Transmission Index from 0 to 1. Ask for a measured STI or STIPA result for the room at handover.
EN 60268-5:2003
Sets the characteristics and measurement methods for loudspeaker datasheets, with its 2009 amendment. Compare speakers on figures stated to the same method.
EN IEC 62368-1:2024
Safety of amplifiers, mixers, processors and powered speakers; the 2020 edition was withdrawn in May 2024. Ask for the report for each model quoted.
BTRC permission and an NOC
Treat wireless microphones as radio equipment: ask for the importer's BTRC enlistment certificate, valid 2 years, and the NOC for the shipment.

What moves the price of a conference and sound system

  • Wired or wireless: radio kits add receivers, batteries and the importer's BTRC papers to each position.
  • Microphone count: every speaking position adds a microphone and a processor channel.
  • Processing: echo cancellation and the number of channels the processor must handle.
  • Room size and finishes: larger or harder rooms need more speakers and more tuning.
  • Integration: PoE switch ports and links to the video conferencing kit.

Lead times and delivery

A speakerphone or all-in-one unit the seller holds is usually quickest. Installed boardrooms take longer for cabling through furniture and ceilings, processors and ceiling microphones may be imported to order, and wireless kits wait for the importer's BTRC NOC. Roptan confirms dates and any minimum in the quote.

The seller surveys the room, delivers anywhere in Bangladesh, fixes microphones and speakers, runs cable through the furniture and ceiling, and tunes the processor and echo cancelling with the room furnished. At handover ask for a measured STI result, a test call with a remote site, the settings file, user training and the warranty, with a VAT invoice (Mushak 6.3).

What we check for this order

  • One room brief for all sellersWe send every seller the same room size, finishes and seating plan, so quotes cover the same design.
  • Wireless microphone papersWe ask for the importer's BTRC enlistment certificate and the shipment's NOC before accepting wireless microphones.
  • Safety reportsWe check EN IEC 62368-1 reports for the amplifiers, processors and powered speakers named in the quote.
  • Test call and clarity readingWe ask for a live call with a remote site and a measured STI result before the room is signed off.

Questions buyers ask

Why do remote callers hear their own voice?

Their voice comes out of your loudspeaker, is picked up by your microphones and sent back to them. Acoustic echo cancellation recognises that returning signal and removes it, adapting as people and furniture change the room. If the echo continues, ask the seller to check that the canceller covers every microphone channel.

Do we need wireless microphones?

Only where people move. Fixed table microphones suit a boardroom with set seats and avoid radio papers and batteries. Wireless kits suit trainers and stage presenters. If you choose wireless, ask for true diversity receivers and the importer's BTRC permission and NOC.

Will a speakerphone do for our room?

For a small room with a few people close to the table, usually yes. Around a long boardroom table, people at the ends sit far from a single unit, and table microphones with ceiling speakers usually serve the room better. Give the seller the table length and seat count.

How do we know the room sounds right?

Measure it. Speech clarity is rated by the Speech Transmission Index, from 0 to 1, and a score of at least 0.5 is usually described as desirable for most uses. Write a target into the order and ask for a measured result, plus a test call, before you sign off.

How soon will I hear back about pabx, PA and sound systems?
