Buying camisoles and slips in Bangladesh

A camisole is a sleeveless top that reaches the waist on thin straps, worn over a bra or without one. A slip is worn under a dress or skirt, from the shoulders or the waist, to help it hang, stop static cling and keep underwear from showing. Importers, retailers and private label brands buy both for lingerie ranges.

Satin snags easily, so these pieces are judged on seams, straps and the face of the cloth. Roptan places your order with a verified seller, writes fibre, weave and length into the spec, checks seam test results and inspects the bulk before it ships.

Kinds of camisole and slip

Plain camisoles

Sleeveless, waist length, on spaghetti straps, usually in satin, nylon, silk or cotton, and worn over a bra or without one. Choose them when no support is needed.

Camisoles with built-in support

A camisole with an underwire bra or other support sewn in. It is a different product from a plain camisole, with its own pattern, cups, closures and size system.

Control camisoles

A camisole or tank shell with a built-in shaping panel, pads or underwires, giving medium control of bust, waist or abdomen. Straps are usually wider and hems longer than on a plain camisole.

Full slips

Hang from the shoulders on narrow straps and run from the bust to skirt length. Choose them under dresses, especially sheer or clinging ones, and give the length in centimetres.

Half slips and trouser slips

A half slip hangs from the waist on elastic, in mini, standard or long lengths, under skirts. Trouser slips, or pettipants, are worn under thin or light trousers.

What to send a camisole and slip manufacturer in Bangladesh

Fibre and weave apart
Satin is a weave, not a fibre: it can be silk, polyester, rayon or cotton. State both, and knit or woven, since the tests differ.
Length
Length in centimetres for each size, to a stated point. Mini, standard and long are not fixed slip lengths.
Straps and adjusters
Strap width, fixed or adjustable, and the material of rings and sliders, which join the strap and change its length.
Hems and edges
A narrow babylock overlock is the usual hem on light fabric; an overlock that stretches suits jersey. Name the stitch.
Lace
All-over, edge trim, flounce or galloon, plus the lace type. Galloon has the same scallop on both edges, so matching pieces cut from one length.
Weight and climate
Ask for fabric weight in g/m2 by test; light lingerie fabrics usually sit near 34 to 102 g/m2. For hot, humid wear, cotton may suit better.

Tests and labels for camisoles and slips

ISO 13936-1, ISO 13936-2 and ISO 13936-3
Slippage resistance of yarns at a seam in woven fabrics, by fixed seam opening, fixed load or needle clamp. For woven satin and similar cloth only.
ISO 13935-2
Maximum force to seam rupture by the grab method, for strap and side seam strength on made-up pieces.
ISO 105-E04, ISO 105-C06 and ISO 105-X12
Colour fastness to perspiration, laundering and rubbing, for dark satin and lace worn next to the skin.
US 16 CFR 423.6 and 423.8(g)
For the US, a care label that can be seen or easily found, in words or ASTM D5489 symbols. Charmeuse can tear easily when wet, so match the care instruction to the cloth.

What moves the price of a camisole or slip

  • Lace: an expensive material, so all-over lace costs more than a lace hem or trim.
  • Lace placement: matching scallops at every seam wastes lace on each piece, which adds up over a run.
  • Built-in support: cups, underwire or a shaping panel add parts and sewing to a plain camisole.
  • Strap hardware: adjustable straps add rings and sliders to buy, match and check on every piece.

Lead times and delivery

Plain jersey or stock satin styles move faster. Dyed-to-match lace or satin, built-in support and each extra fit round add time, and the same inputs set the minimum. Camisoles are often made in the same lingerie units as panties and briefs, so they can join a wider order. Roptan confirms dates and the minimum in the quote.

Inside Bangladesh, Roptan delivers to your warehouse, shops or online dispatch point, each piece bagged or hung as set in the order and sorted by style, size and colour. Paperwork with each delivery: packing list, seam and fastness reports, inspection report and a VAT invoice (Mushak 6.3).

Buying camisoles and slips for export

Slips have their own customs lines: knitted 6108.11 or 6108.19, woven 6208.11 or 6208.19. A camisole does not, so its heading follows construction, fibre and use. Describe each piece fully on the invoice and let your customs broker confirm the line. Roptan quotes FOB Chattogram, with test reports and the final inspection report.

What we check for this order

  • Seam slippage on woven satinWe read the ISO 13936 result for strap and side seams on bulk fabric before cutting.
  • Strap joins and adjustersWe check straps are firmly attached and rings and sliders adjust without slipping.
  • Face of the clothWe look for snags and pulls on satin and fraying at lace edges, which show at once.
  • Final AQL inspectionRandom inspection to ISO 2859-1, usually AQL 2.5 major and 4.0 minor, covering seams, straps, hems and lace.

Questions buyers ask

Which customs code does a camisole use?

US rulings have put a knitted camisole under 6109, a woven man-made fibre one under 6208.92 and a support camisole under 6212.90. Each ruling covers only the garment it describes, and only the first six digits are the HS code, so your broker confirms the line.

Should a slip be satin or nylon?

Most modern slips are wholly nylon. Glossy charmeuse is less durable than nylon and often tears easily, especially when wet, and the satin weave snags, so it needs tested seams and careful finishing. In very warm or humid climates, a slip wholly of cotton may suit better.

Does ISO 13936 apply to jersey camisoles?

No. ISO 13936 measures slippage of yarns at a seam in woven fabrics only. For a stretch jersey camisole, set elasticity values for fabric and straps under EN ISO 20932-1 and EN ISO 20932-3, and check that seams stretch without the thread breaking.

Is a control camisole a kind of shapewear?

Yes. It covers the torso from above the chest to the waist or below, with medium control of bust, waist or abdomen. Set the control as a tested force at a stated stretch, as for other shapewear, and expect wider straps and a longer hem than a plain camisole.

How soon will I hear back about lingerie and underwear?

Within 48 hours of a complete requirement, with a price and a delivery date. A requirement is complete when it has the quantity, where it is needed and by when.
