Buying snapback caps in Bangladesh
A snapback is a baseball cap with a high, stiffened front, a flat visor and a plastic snap strap at the back, so one size adjusts across many heads. One-size adjustable caps date from the early 1970s, and the snapback is now worn widely as a fashion accessory, in adult and youth sizes.
Roptan places your design with a verified snapback cap manufacturer in Bangladesh, measures the strap range, compares crown and visor with the approved sample, and has the plastic and metal parts checked for your market. You deal with Roptan only.
What a snapback cap manufacturer in Bangladesh needs from you
- Snap strap
- Strap colour, number of holes and layout, such as a 7-hole or double-row buckle. Ask the seller to name the plastic it is moulded from.
- Size range
- Sold as one size, but makers map sizes differently: ask for the smallest and largest head circumference in centimetres and the strap length, adult and youth apart.
- Front and crown height
- Buckram behind the front panels and the crown height. The high, stiff front is what sets a snapback apart from a soft adjustable cap.
- Flat visor
- Paperboard or stiff plastic stiffener and the underside colour; ask that visors stay flat in packing.
- Button, eyelets and logo
- A fabric-covered top button and, often, six eyelets, with the material and finish of each. Give the logo method, size and position; approve raised work on a stitched sample.
Tests and declarations for snapback caps
- REACH Annex XVII entry 23
- Bars articles of listed plastics, among them PVC, polyurethane, PET and polypropylene, with cadmium at 0.01 % by weight or more. It reaches the snap and PVC patches if made of a listed plastic.
- REACH Annex XVII entry 72
- Limits listed substances in consumer clothing and related accessories but exempts non-textile fasteners such as the snap. Caps are not named: ask for a whole-cap declaration and tests on textile parts.
- OEKO-TEX Standard 100
- Tests every thread, button and accessory against over 1,000 harmful substances; class 2 covers direct skin contact, as on the sweatband. Check the one-year certificate's number and article with the issuer.
- CPSIA lead limit for youth sizes
- For US children 12 and under: no more than 100 ppm lead in any part, testing at an accredited third-party lab, a certificate and permanent distinguishing marks where practicable.
Lead times and delivery
Bulk starts once snap, visor and logo pass on a sample. For the rest, use a general garment figure rather than a cap one: a September 2026 press report put garment orders from Bangladesh at 60 to 95 days from order to fulfilment, so leave slack before a launch or event. Roptan confirms dates and the minimum, per style or per colour, in the quote.
In Bangladesh, Roptan delivers snapbacks boxed by design and colour, visors flat and fronts supported, with the carton list, inspection report and Mushak 6.3 VAT invoice. For a launch or an event, give the date the caps must arrive and the split by colour.
Buying snapback caps for export
A textile snapback is classed under HS heading 6505, which in the UK tariff has a peaked caps subdivision; the customs broker confirms the line. US sales need a fibre, origin and identity label under 16 CFR Part 303; the care-label rule leaves hats out, so a care label is your call. Roptan quotes FOB Chattogram with the bill of lading, invoice, packing list, declarations and test reports.
Questions buyers ask
What head sizes does a snapback fit?
One adjustable size fits most adult heads, but makers label sizes differently. Ask the seller to state the smallest and largest circumference in centimetres, and order youth sizes as their own line if children will wear them.
Snapback, fitted or stretch-fit: what is the difference?
A snapback closes with a plastic snap and has a flat visor and a high, stiff front. A fitted cap has no adjuster and comes in head sizes; a stretch-fit cap adjusts through elastic. Name the closure and visor shape in the order, as the words are used loosely.
Do snapbacks need a US flammability test?
No. 16 CFR Part 1610, the US clothing flammability standard, excludes hats unless they cover the neck, face or shoulders, and a snapback covers none of them. Fabrics wholly of polyester, nylon, acrylic, olefin, modacrylic or wool are also exempt from its testing.
Is the plastic snap covered by EU chemical rules?
Partly. REACH entry 72 exempts non-textile fasteners, but entry 23 restricts cadmium in listed plastics such as polypropylene and PVC. Ask the seller which plastic the strap is made of and for a cadmium declaration; the textile parts still need their own tests.
How soon will I hear back about caps and hats?
Within 48 hours of a complete requirement, with a price and a delivery date. A requirement is complete when it has the quantity, where it is needed and by when.
