Buying corporate gifts and promotional items in Bangladesh

Companies, banks, NGOs and event organisers in Dhaka, Chattogram and Gazipur buy branded gifts for clients, staff, conferences and launches. Orders usually cluster around Ramadan and Eid, Pohela Boishakh and the year end, when diaries, notebooks and calendars go out in December and early January. As the trade reports, demand has moved from a plain logo mug towards packed sets where the box and branding matter as much as the item.

A corporate gift supplier in Bangladesh may print from an unapproved proof, use a thinner material than quoted or deliver after the event. Send the item list, quantities, artwork and the date the gifts must reach you. We source from verified sellers, get a sample approved in writing, check the bulk against it and deliver. You deal with Roptan only.

Corporate gifts and promotional items we source

Branded mugs and bottles

Ceramic mugs, steel flasks and bottles with your logo by screen print, sublimation, UV print or laser engraving. Sublimation needs a coated mug; laser marks steel. Steel bottles are usually 304 or 316 stainless; ask for a food-contact test report.

Promotional pens and notebooks

Pens, diaries, notebooks and planners for staff, clients and events. Pens are usually pad printed or laser engraved; notebook covers are debossed, foil stamped or printed. State paper GSM, page count, binding and whether the year is printed.

Corporate gift sets

Combinations such as a pen, notebook, bottle and card in a branded box with a fitted insert. A gift set is a packaging job as well as a product job: approve the box board, print, insert and sleeve on a sample, not only the items.

Printed T shirts and caps

T shirts, polo shirts and caps for events, campaigns and staff. Screen print suits bold colours in larger runs; DTF or digital print suits small runs and full-colour art; caps are usually embroidered. State fabric GSM, composition and the size split.

Keyrings and lanyards

Metal, acrylic, PVC or leather keyrings, and woven or printed lanyards for ID cards and events. Keyrings are usually laser engraved or pad printed; lanyards are sublimation or screen printed. State width, clip and any safety breakaway.

Trophies and crests

Crests and trophies in wood, acrylic, crystal or metal for awards, anniversaries and guests of honour. Names and logos are laser engraved, printed or fixed as metal plates. Check every spelling on a proof.

What to tell a corporate gift supplier in Bangladesh

Item list and quantities
Each item with quantity, colour and size split, plus spares for late additions. Say whether items are packed singly or as sets.
Artwork and logo files
Vector logo files, brand colour codes, and the print position and size on each item. Low-resolution logos print blurred.
Print or decoration method
Screen, pad, UV, sublimation, laser engraving, embroidery, debossing or foil. The method must suit the material: sublimation needs polyester or a coated surface.
Material in writing
Board and paper GSM for boxes and notebooks, fabric GSM and composition for T shirts, steel grade for bottles, so the bulk matches the quote.
Sample and proof approval
A printed sample or a proof for each item, approved by you in writing before the bulk run starts.
Packing and labelling
Individual boxes, poly bags, gift wrap, greeting cards, and whether each pack is named or numbered for distribution.
Delivery date and drop points
The date gifts must reach you, set back from the event, with one drop or several offices in Dhaka, Chattogram or other cities.
Who receives the gifts
If any recipients are public officials, clear the list with your compliance team first; the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules 1979 restrict what officials may accept.

Papers, materials and gift rules

Trade licence and VAT invoice
The seller's current trade licence in the quoted name, and a VAT invoice (Mushak 6.3) under the VAT and Supplementary Duty Act 2012 for your accounts.
Food-contact materials
Steel bottles are usually specified in stainless steel 304 or 316. For mugs and bottles, ask for a food-contact test report from an accredited lab, including lead and cadmium release for glazed ceramic.
FSC for paper and board
Where your company policy asks for certified paper, ask for FSC certified notebooks, boxes and cards, with the certificate number on the invoice.
Rules on gifts to officials
The Government Servants (Conduct) Rules 1979 restrict gifts to public officials, and a Finance Division code of conduct issued in March 2025 bars officials of public entities from taking gifts from the people they serve without higher approval.

What moves the price of corporate gifts

  • Item and material: steel, crystal and leather cost more than plastic, acrylic or paper.
  • Decoration: the number of print colours, positions and methods; engraving and embroidery add time.
  • Quantity: set-up for screens, plates and dies is spread over the run, so small runs cost more per piece.
  • Packaging: rigid boxes, fitted inserts, sleeves and cards add cost to each set.
  • Timing: orders placed close to Eid or the year end compete for busy presses and workshops.
  • Personalisation: names on crests, numbered packs and split deliveries add handling.

Lead times and delivery

Lead time depends on the item, the decoration and whether the goods are in stock or imported. Production starts only after you approve the sample or proof, and imported items add shipping and customs clearance at Chattogram or Dhaka. Presses are usually busy before the year end and before Eid, so order diaries and calendars well before December. Roptan confirms dates and any minimum quantity for each item in the quote.

We deliver across Bangladesh, to head offices in Dhaka, branch offices in Chattogram, Sylhet and Khulna, and event venues. Goods are counted by item and size against the order, checked against the approved sample and packed as agreed, singly or as sets. You receive a delivery note, the approved sample record and a VAT invoice (Mushak 6.3). Split deliveries to several offices can be agreed in the quote.

What we check for this order

  • Material specification in writingBoard, paper GSM, fabric GSM or steel grade as quoted, checked on the sample and again in the bulk.
  • A delivery schedule agreedDates in the quote, not after it, set back from your event so there is time to fix any fault.

Questions buyers ask

Can we send corporate gifts to government officials?

Check with your compliance team first. The Government Servants (Conduct) Rules 1979 restrict the gifts public officials may accept, and a Finance Division code of conduct issued in March 2025 bars officials of public entities from taking gifts from the people they serve without higher approval. We supply and deliver the goods; who receives them is your decision and your policy.

Which print method suits my item?

It depends on the material. Screen print suits bold colours on T shirts and bags; pad print suits pens and small curved items; laser engraving marks metal, wood and leather; sublimation needs polyester or a coated mug; DTF and digital print suit full-colour art in small runs. Tell us the item and logo, and the seller proposes the method on the proof.

What is the minimum order for branded gifts?

It depends on the item and the print method. Screen print, custom boxes and woven lanyards need set-up, so they usually carry a higher minimum, while digital print and laser engraving suit small runs. We do not publish a standard minimum: Roptan confirms the minimum for each item in the quote, before you approve the sample.

How early should I order Eid or year-end gifts?

Before the busy season starts. Year-end diaries and calendars go out from early December into the first week of January, and presses are usually full in the run-up, so order well before December. For Eid, plan before Ramadan. The sample, your approval and any imported items all take time, so allow for each.

How do I make sure the bulk matches the sample?

Approve a physical sample or a proof in writing, with the material, print colours and position stated. We keep the approved sample as the reference and check the bulk against it: logo colour and position, material, count and packing. Faults found before dispatch go back to the seller to fix before delivery.

How soon will I hear back about corporate gifts and promotional items?

Within 48 hours of a complete requirement, with a price and a delivery date. A requirement is complete when it has the quantity, where it is needed and by when.

Who do I deal with?

With Roptan, when Roptan manages the order: we buy from the verified seller and deliver to you. With the supplier directly, when you post on the requirement board and choose a quote yourself.
