Buying human hair wigs in Bangladesh

A human hair wig is hair sewn or knotted onto a cap: machine-sewn wefts on a stretch base, or hair tied by hand into French or Swiss lace. Wig brands, salon suppliers and online sellers abroad buy them; the EPB line for wigs and other articles of human hair, HS 670420, earned about 11.0 million US dollars in FY2025-26.

Kinds of human hair wig

Machine-wefted wigs

Weft sewn by machine onto a stretch cap with adjustable back straps, usually pre-styled. The common daily-wear kind, usually quicker to make than lace.

Lace front wigs

Hand-tied lace along the hairline only, on a wefted cap; a frontal usually runs about 13 by 4 inches. Choose it when the front hairline must look natural.

Closure wigs

A lace patch, usually about 4 by 4 inches, where the hair parts. A natural parting at a lower cost than a frontal.

360 lace wigs

Lace in a ring round the head with a breathable cap in the centre, so the hairline looks natural all round. Usually cheaper than full lace.

Full lace wigs

The whole base is hand-tied lace, so the hair parts and styles any way. It costs more than 360 lace and usually takes longer, since there is more lace to tie.

Blended wigs

Human hair mixed with synthetic fibre: cheaper than all-human, longer lasting than all-synthetic. Declare the blend on the order.

What to tell a human hair wig manufacturer in Bangladesh

Hair preparation: Turned hair, sorted root to root and never bleached or dyed, or processed hair whose cuticle was partly dissolved, then bleached, dyed and resin finished.
Remy claim: If you order Remy, ask how cuticle alignment will be shown: a hand run both ways along a bundle and a washed sample. Without proof, treat it as non-Remy.
Length: In inches, measured straight. Ponytails collected in Bangladesh were reported in 2019 at 6 to 26 inches, the shorter ones going to men's wigs.
Cap and lace: Construction, lace size (a 4 by 4 closure or a 13 by 4 frontal), lace colour and cap size.
Knots: Single knots at the hairline and parting, where they show less; double knots over the rest of the cap, where they hold better.
Origin and colour work: Brazilian or European are trade labels, not proof of source. Ask where the hair was collected and how far it can be lightened.

Tests, rules and codes for human hair wigs

REACH Annex XVII, entry 43: For the EU, it bars azo dyes releasing listed amines above 30 mg/kg in textile parts in prolonged skin contact, such as a dyed cap or lace. Ask for a test on those parts.
EN 71-2:2020+A1:2025: EU toy flammability, covering wigs worn on the head. It matters only for a wig sold as a toy or costume for children; the 2020 edition was withdrawn on 15 September 2025.
HS 670420: Wigs and other articles of human hair. Unworked hair is 0501 and dressed hair 6703, so the invoice describes a finished wig; your broker confirms the code.

What moves the price of a human hair wig

Preparation: turned, unprocessed hair costs more than hair that has been stripped, dyed and coated.
Length: long hair is scarcer, so long wigs cost more per piece.
Lace area: full lace above 360 lace, a frontal above a closure, any lace above machine weft.
Hair content: an all-human wig costs more than a blend.
Custom colour, weight, logo and packaging, each quoted as an option.

Lead times and delivery

The cap sets most of the time: machine-wefted wigs are usually quicker, while lace takes longer because each knot is tied by hand. Colour work, custom packaging and finding enough long raw hair add time. Roptan confirms the sample and bulk dates, and the minimum per style, in the quote.

Questions buyers ask

Can a Bangladesh maker supply Remy human hair?

Sometimes, not by default. A 2019 report from the Faidabad hair market in Dhaka found buyers mainly collect non-Remy hair in Bangladesh. A Remy lot needs proof that the cuticles run one way: a hand run along the bundle and a washed sample that does not tangle.

What is the difference between a frontal and a closure?

Size and position. A closure is a lace patch, usually about 4 by 4 inches, where the hair parts. A frontal usually runs about 13 by 4 inches across the forehead, so the whole front hairline is lace, and it costs more.

Why does tangle-free hair sometimes tangle after washing?

It may not be Remy. Hair with cuticles in mixed directions can be smoothed by stripping the cuticles in an acid bath and coating it for shine. Washing the sample before approval shows how it behaves once that finish is washed.

Where does the hair come from?

Partly from local combings and parlour cuttings, sold through hair merchants to processing centres. Since 2021 discarded hair has also come from India through the Hili land port, and export-zone makers have said they import raw material. Ask for each lot's source in writing.

How soon will I hear back about wigs and hair products?
